Where did this motor come from?

The other day i went to get a valve cover gasket and said to the guy it was for a honda B16A, he looked all puzzled and asked for what kind of car and i realized that i had no idea what year/model it came from!

B16A
5404996

those are the numbers stamped on the motor. Can anybody tell from that alone what my motor came from? If not will parts for a USDM B16A1/2/3 be a perfect fit, if so i could order parts for a 99-00 SI correct? I have this motor in a 97 civic if that helps with anything.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Where did this motor come from?

Does it say just B16A, or does it say B16A2? I believe serial numbers that start with a 5 are second gen JDM, but don't remember off the top of my head.

But yea, 99.9% of the parts from B16As fit other B16As. The biggest one I can think of that doesn't fit is hte 1st gen thermostat housing.
