Autoart R34 Z tuned & More

hey all, ive always been on the modeling forum, but sometimes when I come back to Hong Kong, I always manage to pick myself up some new diecasts. I am going to share some news with you all...

First, I managed to get my hands on the newly released R34 Ztuned here in the AutoArt Store in wanchai (for those who been in HK).

Pros: Detail is phemonimal, much more details than the orginal R34, and R34 N1 version (I have both). Decals are on great, newly designed seatbelts and a painted valve cover in gold. Nismo body kit all around, with a NEI exhaust. LMGT4 rims. New nismo hood and carbonfiber replication decals on the wing and on the door pillar. Actual etching for the numbers on the shift knob on the gearing

Cons: The windows are closed... harder to open the door, but nice touch on the exterior detail. Went Cheap on the base and casing as all AA models. Again the hinge on the hood is too weak and will not hold by itseft... needs extra prop rod, esp this hood because the extra vents make the hood even heavier than it can support. And the Trunk is a standard trunk from ALL R34 models, there is no support or race spec material in there... just flock carpet.

But I love Skyline GTR, and I only buy the models Skyline models from Ebbro and AA, I don't like the American rice BS that are comming out because of 2F2F. This model is a definate collecting item tho, the exterior with the decals and new body kit looks spectacular and the cockpit detail is to die for, but don't look much for lavishly garnished racing tools in this model. I give this model a 9/10 hitting all marks for making a good model again

OK in other news... It seems that the diecast community has spoken and the other great diecast maker Kyosho, has again started making its famous RX-7 1:18 diecast. It was selling for 480HK in a brand new type of packaging... so that is about 50 dollars US. And Auto Art representative that worked at the Autoart store has told me that the plans of making a Skyline GTR R32 is in the making. we will be seeing stock street R32 for sale in the end of 04... (again this is what he told me, no confirmation) The R33 does not seem to have a Liecence from Nissan, so NO producer has able to make it. The AA rep said it is trying hard to get that liecence.

In other collecting bits... I managed to get myself a out of production diecast of the Midnight purple R33 GTR by Ebbro, the 1:43, also I will be heading out to get a diecast 1993 MR2 SW20 by Mtech, priced at 290HK. I also managed to get my hands on the limited edition spoon civic type R its a choroQ not a diecast... for folks that donno what it is, it is a japanese collectors type of Penny Racers.

I guess I can list the dicasts I have for you folks

1:18
Kyosho RX7 RHD (silver) black box edition
Kyosho Supra RHD (red) black box edition
Kyosho NSX Type 0 (emola orange) 2nd boxed edition
Autoart Skyline GTR34 (silver)
Autoart Skyline N1 GTR34 (bayside blue)
Autoart Skyline Nismo Ztuned GTR34 (silver/nismo)
Autoart Mitsubishi Evo VI (white)

1:43
Ebbro Skyline GTR33 purple
Autoart Skyline GTR34 blue
Ebbro Skyline GTR32 black
Mtec Mr2 black (soon hopefully)

I will find out more if I can, seems to get these models are even hard over seas now adays... Try to get them on Ebay if that is the last resort... I find that it is still reasonably priced on Ebay.

See you all!

Peter

Nice collection you have.

I hope the news about the R32 is true. I really like the way it looks.

Re: Autoart R34 Z tuned & More

I haven't checked this forum in a long time, Im always over in modeling.. Im glad I did though!

your review of the AA Z-tune has me salivating. I have the AA R34 midnight purple, but now I will have to order the Z-tune. see what you've started

and I hope the R32/33 go through. I don't know why they aren't around considering they'd be a must buy!

where would you suggest I get my Z-tune from considering I'm in the US?

I really suggest EBAY for any auto art models...

42.00+10 dollar shipping is 52.00, that is about right, and even if you find it at shops it might be more because of its rareity

btw, I juss got myself a MTECH RX-7FD diecast model, scaled at 1:43... that thing is good looking for a first generation model
