does the Cold air intake actually do anything?

i dont want to spend that much money for nothing..

My dad and me have sl1 2001's. His automatic, i have manual and his accelerates faster than mine!!!

manuals should be about 0.8 seconds faster in the quarter mile(at least for the sl2s) if you shift right.

all aftermarket intakes allow more air to flow to the engine. the true cold air intakes, which fit inside the bumper, allow cooler air in the engine. cooler air is denser, so even more air will flow.

realisticly, NO!, they dont do anything for your car. you will not notice a difference in power or times. the only difference you will notice is more noise.

but your manual should be faster than an auto.
