Clicking
The sound is like......a piece of metal shving or something in a box being blown around. It's pretty quick sounding.

Re: Undercarriage Clicking
my best bet, your ball joints are worn out. Right now what you can do is either get a grease gun and lubricate them or have the ball joints replaced all together.

My 96 dodge intrepid 3.3 started making a clicking noise that sometimes went away. It went away for a while then it got louder. It is hard to tell where the noise is coming from if you can get under the car it sounds like its coming from the starter. The noise can best be described as putting a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle, a little more metalic sound changing with engine speed. I took the starter off and found that the thin metal shim between the starter and transmission had broken near one of the bolt holes and part of the shim had bent and was hitting the teeth of the flywheel. I am 99% sure this is the problem, The shim may be a dealer part, the local part stores dont have one. |
