Initial timing
I have a 90 sunbird 2.0. I have replaced the rotor, cap, plugs and wires. When I went to time it, it was 45 degrees advanced. This lead me to replace the timing belt. I have now verified that cam timing is correct, mark on cam pully is lined up with notch in rear timing belt cover with #1 cyl at TDC, and the rotor is pointed at #1 on the distributor cap.I have verified spark is present and will jump a 20mm gap and the fuel injection is functioning. The engine spins over fine but will not fire at all. The manual I have says to follow preliminary timing instructions on the label under the hood. I can't do this as the car has been wrecked once and the label was lost in the repair job. Can anyone shed some light on what instructions were on the missing label, or am I overlooking something else?
