About Flywheel

I'm thinking to put a Lightweight flywheel in my engine before put it in my new body, somebody here did it?, do you think it helps? somebody told me that the idle of the car change when you put a Lightweight flywheel is that true?.

i put lightweight flywheel after i did my 6 bolt swap. its not 8.5 pounds aluminum fidanza, but is act 12.5 pounds. so far havent got any problems with it, altough i got to say that the engine now revs a lil smooter and so easy kind of.
while u got the engine out , why dont u take the balance shaft out too...

There is no point in making posts 5 minutes apart. This isnt a chat room, its an internet forum. Most people only check it once every day or two...

It doesnt really help much unless you are roadracing or auto crossing the car, IMO. The only reason I plan to go to the ACT flywheel is because it is SFI approved, and the track requries an SFI approved flywheel at 11.49 seconds... Plus no one wants a flywheel exploding on them. I dont think its worth the money otherwise, the gains from reduced rotating mass are very small.

Just more reliability. The front bshaft belt is known to take out the main tbelt, doing a lot of damage of course. There are instructions at www.vfaq.com, but its not a simple process. Recomended though. You also remove some rotating mass, but because the diameters are so small, its negligible.

here dude, but if u are not familiar with the engine and how it works i wouldn't recomend doenit by your own. the only concern is (from my point of view) about getting , having the right tools...and be very carefull...

I didnt even realize that english wasnt your first language until I Went back and read the posts again Maybe its because my wife is from Brasil, so I'm used to the broken english
