contour and NSX

Well, i hate to admit this but i gotta. I was on the way home from the grocery store when i saw this "ford cunt" with dual exhaust in front of me, no badges. I pull up next to him in 5th just cruzing. We both look at eachother and i can see he wants to go. I immediatly throe the car into 3rd gear engaging VTEC. I'm like this guy is toast, but to my suprise the sob pulls a car and a half on me. so i switch to 4th and we stay even with him ahead. as i was looking at his bumber i noticed the liscence plate said SVT and some numbers. Made me not feel quite as bad. those things got 190HP V6's in em and only weight a few hundred more than me. but i admit to the death.

On to the better story. I work for acura at one of the local dealerships, and the guy that i was training under at the time gets to work on a red NSX. come to find out, this nsx is equipped with a comptech supercharger, and the comptech colse ratio 6 speed trani. the owner scca's it on the weekends. so my buddy gets done working on it and has to "test drive" it. He's like hop in if you wanna go for a ride. so we take it out and he gets on it a little in first and stomps as soon as we hit second. all i can say is vrooom VROOOM VROOOOOOOOM!!!!!! the boost held me in the seat, and when VTEC kicked in i couldn't hardly move. it was awesome to say the least. oh, the car was brought in because the owner heard a squeak in the suspension while taking corners driving it at the track....no shit!!!!!

Re: contour and NSX

it was definatley in the 12's, the best part about it was that it was quiet. To the untrained ear, you would've never known there was a supersharger on it. The guy that was driving said he didn't get on it in first, cuz all it did was spin and get sideways last time he drove it.

Re: contour and NSX

A friend of mine used to have a decently modded all black 98.5 SVT Contour. Hmmmm I always found it funny when people thought his car was slow. I guess having 4 cams in your engine sort of helps. Yeah they came with 4 cams. Stock hp for the SVT Contour is 200hp and 160tq. The 24valve 2.5 Duratech was orginally designed by Porsche (Then of course Ford had to mess it up and lower the hp and reliability).
Don't feel bad if the SVT had any mods on it then it would ahve been a really ugly race. My friend had a Cat Back exhaust Ypipes upgraded mass air flow sensor, bigger Tbody, pullies, and a Diablo Chip. It was pretty bad ass when it was working.

Re: contour and NSX

Wow thanks for not hating on the SVT Contour. I told my friend who used to own one the response from a Honda thread about his car and it made him respect import owners more. It's funny however b/c the fastest one only runs like 10's or 11's in the 1/4 mile. As a regular street car they are cool and have a great sound to them.
