Help a newbie @ Cars out?

Hey everybody. My names Navid (Doesnt matter lol). Yeah well im a new driver, and i just got my hands on a 97 toyota celica limited edition. Its in great condition and is basically stock. I really want it to be performance and dont have mad $$ to spend. If anyone could help me out to optimize this car for speed / looks, please give me a guideline or something to go on. I barely know where my engine is so theres ALOT i need to learn Thanks for any help you can give me!

Before you make it fast, i recommend driving it everywhere you can for the next 2-3 years, and really learn how to drive. You need the skill before you can handle the speed.

I'm not trying to tell you you're inept, i'm trying to tell you steps to becoming involved in street racing.
