Need Help Setting Up A Sound Sytem

I have a 2002 Firebird V6 (without Moonson) and im tryin to set up an audio system. I bought (2) RFD2110 subs and a hifonics 1500 mono D Brutus amp, I still have not installed them. I recently bought and installed 4 Pioneer REV 6.5 oversized speakers and a Pioneer 7500 head unit. I plan on runnin the 2 subs off the hifonics amp with a stinger SWKH4 wiring kit.

My problem is not the bass but the trebble of the system. I believe my subs will be too strong and i wont hear the words everytime the bass hits. I believe i should get tweeters but my head unit will not provide enough power so i need another amp. I plan on getting another amp but i dont know how many channels i need on the amp or how to set up the configuration.

I thought about running the rear 6.5 speakers off the head unit and runnin the tweeters and the front 6.5 speakers off a 2 channel amp but i wont know how to wire it.

Sorry for the long post but your input would be appreciated.

Thank You,

David

Re: Need Help Setting Up A Sound Sytem

how many watts is the head unit putting out per channel

ya you are going to have alot of bass.... but set up properly you will still be able to hear everything. it depends on what type of amp you are planning on running your front speakers off of as to how you woulod wire them..... i personally would get a 4 channel amp that has a built in high pass crossover, and can accpet speaker wire inputs, that way you can just take the wires off of your head unit and plug them into the amp and then from the amp you can plug the speakers, that would be the easiest just make sure the 4 channel amp puts out more rms power than your head unit does.

Re: Need Help Setting Up A Sound Sytem

I've got a brutus 1500d in my 85 firebird bridged mono for 3 image dynamics tens. It produced some overpowering base. Not to horrible though. I eventually picked up an external crossover network and a sony 600w 4 channel amp for the mids and highs. Made a dramatic improvement in the sound quality. Of course, it all depends what you like. May just try the mids and highs with just rhe head unit pushing them to see if it will work for you. Also I'm interested to know hat you think of the brutus amp.

Re: Need Help Setting Up A Sound Sytem

I prefer, as lots of people do, most the trebble from the front and bass from the back. what i did was put in a component system in the front of my 98 TA. only cost 200$ for the pair of mids, tweeters, and the amp. both the amp and speakers are from alpine, the amp is 2 channel and 250 watt. that doesnt sound like much power but you would be surprised how loud and ultra clear it sounds. i have 2 12 inch edisgnaudio subs with a 1000 watt amp and even with the insane bass i get crystal clear trebble. So if u want the BEST trebble get a component system for your front and if u wanna go all out get it for the rear too.
