Question B16 head on D16 block

I was wondering if it was possible to put a B16 head on my 91 Si block??
If so, how much would I expect to pay?

You cant put a DOHC head on a SOHC block and plus the series are different (D vs B). (ie:If you have a B series engine, you cant bolt up a D series tranny.) Only things that are of the same nature will bolt up.

Worship - The JDM ZC is able to bolt up to a D16, because it is essentially the same as the European EFI D16A8.

Fishcat37 - There is no USDM ZC. And besides, the ZC is a D16.

Didn't the Integra use a ZC in the eighties? The ZC is actually the D16A8 if i'm not mistaken, very similar to the SI's D16A6 'cept with twin cams.

The integra used the ZC in japan but never here in the us. The US model was the DOHC non vtec D16A1 or 86-87 and D16A3 for the 88-89 models. That's about all i know.

Some people call the d16a1 the brown top or olive top zc. It looks exactly like the zc except it has a brown valve cover and only 118 hp.

Thank you for reconfirming what I said.

A DOHC head can bolt onto a SOHC block.

Do you realize you just brought up a two year old post?

Anywho... no, you are wrong n00b... an Integra LS head will not bolt up to a SOHC block i don't care how much "drilling and customing" you do.

BTW... do you have any pics of this frankenstein head swap you claim to have? I'm sure a lot of people would like to see how you mated a DOHC head with a SOHC block not even of the same series of motor. Do you realize the physical dimensions of those two motors are drastically different? You sound like such a complete idiot posting up such utter nonsense when in reality you (a) don't have a car at all, or more likely (b) have a crappy stock civic that you've adorned with all the "go-fast" parts you can find at your local Pep Boys hoping to knock a few tenths off your 17 second 1/4 mile time.

Done ranting now

Re: B16 head on D16 block

haha this kid sounds awsome with his b18 swap and "custom exhaust" yeah you know thats backyard engineering type shit there and yet i have to agree with him on the frankenstein shit this other guy is talking about

93 Civic Hatch d16y8
Port and polished heads
bored over 33cc
individual throttlebody injected
valvetrain
forged pistons
rods
cam
pulleys
crank
100hp shot of nitrous

no need to list all suspension and accessories
just know the true secret to a fast honda is the hp/weight ratio
