Electrical Problems...Ugly ones.

My fiance' recently had a 12 inch sub and amp installed in her 2002 trailblazer. The other day, we were washing our cars, and she let her stero play, while the trailblazer was not running, thus draining the battery. In fact, the battery died. So later, while I wasn't around, she attempted to jump start the vehicle. She attached the jumper cables not to the battery, but to the fuse box terminals, right next to the battery. It didn't do anything for the battery. Later on I actually jumped the vehicle correctly, but now the power windows don't roll down, the power locks don't work, the radio doesn't work, the a/c doesn't work. I check both fuse boxes, but I couldn't find a blown fuse, at least the ones you can visually inspect. And now we can't get the key out of the lock. Any ideas?

Sounds like you blew some of the other fuses you couldn't see or maybe she melted the wires connecting the fuse box. The key not coming out also happens when the battery is dead, so the ignition is not getting power to release it. Try bringing it into the shop save the jumping story though, just say what’s wrong with it.

Sounds like you fried the body control module. There's a warning in the owners manual about jump starting, especially with the radio on.
Sure hope it don't cost you a fortune to get it fixed.

I hate to admit that I also incorrectly jumped my fuse box. I have a '03 Envoy...It turns out the IP fuse is fried. It's a 125AMP, 32V fuse that can be bought at any dealer for about $5. It's at the end of the fuse box terminal. Remove the 2 bolts and pop out the fuse & replace.
