is this one any good?

Ok, I'm really wanting a british car, and have just found this one on buysell.com. It is for my own 16th birthday. I am wondering if this is a good buy or if I am going to have lots of troubles with the car in the future? Like is there any troublesome parts that should be replaced or parts i should start stocking up on?

the car

Re: is this one any good?

where's the car located? watchout for rust/bondo on rocker panels/rear quarterpanels, floorboards, basicly everywhere......anything electrical has a tendancy to fail without warning. I imagine, it has a single solex carb., these aren't know for being too fantastic, oh yeah, is the car leaking oil? (slowly), if it's not leaking, I'd be wary.

Re: is this one any good?

I'd prefer an earlier model. The Stromberg carb is junk!!! Now if this is a 74 & 1/2 model BUY IT!!!! Pay attention to the previous post as well. If the car's not been run make sure the hydralics are in good shape. They are Cr@p as well. Wiring's not as bad on these models as the earlier ones as they use sealed quick disconnects instead of the old pot metal bullets. If it has wire wheels on it make sure they aren't about to come off. They will.
