Unhappy Passat Passenger SIde Lock

Hey Guys,

Need your INPUT once again.. Go a 99V Passat and whenever I try to use the in-car controls for the central locking, the driver side lock keeps poppin out (unless I press it quickly twice)>>!!

I have tried getting the lock inside the door changed.. NO LUCK
I have also tried changing the Central Door Locking Unit (Brain thingy) that is located underneath the carpet at the front (passenger side).l And you've guessed it .. it didnt work>!!!

ANy ideas would be brill..

Thanks Guys./.

Paul

Re: Passat Passenger SIde Lock

Does it lock itself properly after you reach about 10 mph? Does it lock properly if you lock it with a key in the passenger side door lock? What I'm wondering is if it is a vacuum leak problem which would cause it to happen when locking by all methods. Or, just from the one switch, in which case I would suspect the door module (as you already replaced the main module).

I'd first suspect that switch. Otherwise, do you have access to a door lock module that is in the door? It's part of the power window motor assembly.

Mine is a 00 V6 GLX wagon.

I've had similar problems with the passenger side lock.
In my case it will often fail to pop down all the way at the
10 mph mark or will not pop down with keyless.

I live in a safe neighborhood so it doesn't bother me
too much

If someone can tell me how to disable the annoying
10 mph auto lock down, I would appreciate it.

the auto lock can be disabled by your local dealer.
