quick question

ive noticed a loss in power and a hesitation of when i press the pedal and when the engine actually starts to rev. and ive seen conflicting reports that it could be the knock sensor. so i ran my cpu and the knock sensor is all that came up. the mechanic took it for a quick test drive and said my clutch is pretty worn. he said i shouldnt bother replacing the knock sensor as it wont have any effect. he says the clutch is whats giving me my bad performance.

any thoughts?
