Brake fuse blowing

The fuse keeps blowing and I can not find the short. The Cruise Control is suspect (because it has not been working for a while) but I need help in where to disconnect it. Any suggestions appreciated.

I had a whacky fuse problem for a while on my 93 Taurus. Turns out the cigarette lighter was stuck. Wouldn't it be great if that were the answer?

Under what conditions does it blow? The moment you put it in? Or only after you hit the brake pedal? And what year of car?

Check your bulbs. I had one filament on a two filament bulb that when it blew, just broke on one side and then layed across the second element.

The parking lights would work, and the signal lights would work in the daytime. But as soon as I turned the headlights on and then signaled a left-hand turn, the fuse would blow!

That was a real MOFO to figure out.

Re: Brake fuse blowing

Ive seen the windstars not a toures yet for sure where the Cruise an the brakelights are to seperate circuits on the brake switch and the cruise control side kept blowing the brakelight switch side. Usually its the connector to the switch going bad but sometimes it was the actuall switch. Drives most technicians nuts because they dont realize their not on the same brake light switch circuit like most cars are.
