Brake Light Problem
My brake light just decided to stay on one day.
I've got a 1986 Pick-Up, 4x4, and after one day of four wheeling the light just decided not to go away. I know the brake is A) Disengaged, and B) Still works, but the light is just ... always on. No charge light however, so Its different then the other post I read on here. I did notice that sometimes it does shut off... mostly when flying over railroad tracks. Think its possible just a loose wire bouncing around in the dash? Or could it be a precursor to an E-Brake problem?

Re: Brake Light Problem
Is the brake fluid reservoir full? What condition are your brake pads and shoes?

Re: Brake Light Problem
... they probably are pretty shoddy actually. Bigger tires/water every now and then getting up and over the wheels... I'll look in the morning. Thanks for the direction.

Re: Brake Light Problem
When mine needed replacing, the first sign was the light coming on for a second when I would stop the vehicle and eventually it was on all the time
