need tires and wheels

I am about to buy a 92 miata and am in need of a new package. I have heard that miatas are weight sensitive in relation to the wheel and tire that can be one there. so does anyone know what the stock weight of the wheels and tires are? And does anyone have any suggestions as to a good package that has a lot of bang for the buck cause im strapped and on a budget to get this car representable. Im going for performance to and need something thats light and stiff and can handle the hard stuff. thanx.

These cars do suffer with heavier wheels. You want to stay under 15lbs per wheel if possible. Most folks upgrade to a 15" with a 195/50-15 tire size. The best bang for the buck I know of is the Kazara KZ-m $105.00 each (15X7", 13.2lbs) and a nice Summer tire like the Yokohama AVS ES100 195/50-15 at $56.00 each. You can check all of this out here:

Re: need tires and wheels

Will there be much difference between buying a 15 or a 16 setup? I am looking for a combo that the wheels are about $140 and tires for around $80. Ive been looking at Enkei and 5zigen as well as Kosei for rims. But am having a little trouble deciding and which are better rims. Im also looking for a good set of rubbers for allseason because i drive in the wet occasionally and dont want a loss of performance. Any other suggestions would be great.
