Engine Swap Questions

When doing an engine swap do I need a wiring harness just for the engine or everything else too like headlights tail lights and what not?

Although in some cases it is easier to swap the entire harness, it is usually easier to build a custom harness from an ECU pin-out sheet, and a used harness......cutting away what you don't need. That's been my experience anyway. Hope this helps

one would usually use the stock harness from your old motor that you have taken out. Unless the harness you need already comes on the motor that you are purchasing

Most people that I've seen doing swaps on Hondas are going from (in most cases) a non-Vtec engine to a Vtec engine....which, although there are ways around it, they usually use a factory Vtec ECU in the harness....which requires at least some mods to the harness itself. So, I guess that it really just depends on what your car currently has....and what you are swapping into it. A great resource is :

I'm sure that someone has already posted this link here somewhere...but here it is again.
