Beat an Eclipse

It was one of the current models, put about 3 cars on him from 60-90 where I still kept creeping away up to around 120. He even jumped me a bit at the start.. I'm pretty sure it was a GT, no way could the slower models keep up like he did. All I could hear on it was an intake but who knows..

Re: Beat an Eclipse

I've never raced one.. Next time one lines up with me I'll hit the gas, drop back.. hit the gas, drop back.. Done that a number of times with all the regular Jonny-Racers around here with slow cars and it's pretty fun

Re: Beat an Eclipse

The v6's are pretty decent on the top end side.

I woulden't be suprised if a stock top of the line v6 beat a stock top of the like gsx from a roll.

i dont know about all of that, but i do know the gen 2 gsx's could go...

without attempting to bolster ricochets ego any, his car would take a stock gsx soundly.

Re: Beat an Eclipse

i was refering to the newer eclipse model not the gsx or gst models
the only reason those are faster is because of boost
if they turbocharged the newer eclipses, they be just as fast
and i have raced a 97 gsx, guess what happened?
it lost, to my mom's car
a family sedan
guess it couldn't handle a TL
i don't mean to bash on eclipses/DSMs
i give incredible respect to them

Re: Beat an Eclipse

stock dsm's are nothing to waive a stick at. I don't know why everyone praises them or refers to them like they are the fastest thing's out there.

they are decent for what they are but you would be lucky to hit high 14's with a stock gsx.

I like dsm's but I just find it funny how people think they are so fast and almost unbeatable even by their younger brother's.

I once raced a brand new eclipse GT with the racing stripe's and all froma 3rd gear roll he kept dead even with me with maybe intake and exhaust, but from a 1st gear roll I pulled the crap out of him. they have pretty decent top end!

Im mostly reffering to people who think like wtfi'mback. because well he will probably be back if he wasent banned for good or he will come up with a new name.
