is it possible to put a S2000 engine into the 240sx? would it be a perfect fit just like the SR? IT cuz i want the car to be fast enough than most cars but be able to drift.

The reason an SR20DET is such a perfect fit into a 240SX is because over in Japan it's the exact same car with the different engine. Now you're talking about a whole other engine, one that has nothing to do with a 240, even isn't related to Nissan. Just because it's a 2.0 four banger doesn't mean it'll fit. If you want you can go buy an S2K.

sure ya could, go ahead and drop it right in, just make sure you have modified engine mounts, custom wiring harness for 240-s2k, vtec ecu, modified driveshaft and/or rearend, modified brackets/mounts for the s2k transmission, and a helleva lot of other stuff that will prolly wind up costing you about 10 grand or so and thats not including the motor...so unless your bill gates, i wouldnt think about it...

Re: unique honda

well mostly the reason i wouldn't go for the sr20det becuase i heard SR doesn't pass emission. And around here, u need to pass emission to drive the car. So i need a motor that is just like teh SR but don't want the KA.

to drift you need torque... hence why no one drifts the S2K

Re: unique honda

You People Are Stupid..... Why Do You Automatically Assume It'll Take Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars To Mount An Engine That Uses Basic Mount Systems? You Could Probably Build An Upper Engine Mount BraCket And Use The Ka Lower Mounts For The S2k Motor..... And The Tranny Would Just Be A Custom X-member That Fits The S2k Mount, Driveshafts Are Cheap And Easy To Get, The Engine Harness Contains All The Nessecary Solenoids And Comp Controls For Vtec, Wiring Is Pretty Basic No Matter What Swap You Do, The Motor Is Extremely Light, And It Makes Quite A Bit More Power Than The Sr20dets Found In Everything Up To The S15 (not Including The S15).

I Would Say Go For It.... If I Could Sell My Rb Car And Get Another Shell I Would Do It Just To Shut Everyone Up! It Shouldn't Cost That Much As Long As You HAVE Friends With Decent Fabrication Skills Or Have Those Skills Your Self.

Ohh And The S2k Has Tons Of Torque And People Drift Them..... The Reason They Aren't Extremely Popular Drift Cars Is Because They Handle Extremely Well And Are Designed For Maximum Grip. Ohh And Drifting Takes Technique Not Torque..... You Can Drift A 1 Ft-lb Of Torque Go Kart, I Know This First Hand.

you sir, are an idiot.

the fc20 (correct me if im wrong, im not a honda-nut) is an ideal engine for drifting and imo is better than an sr20.

1st off, its n/a therefore no unexpected boost spikes or turbo lag.

2nd-ly, its a high reving engine and it will help when you are in a high speed drift

3rd (not really a reason, but i found it interesting) the powerband and torque curve are extremely similar (besides the increase in power) to the 4ag engine which is used in the ae86

Re: unique honda

That Is The Best Part.... Its N/a And Makes More Power Than The Sr20, It'll Handle 10500 Rpm Stock, It Weights A Little Less Than The Sr, The Tranny Is Alot Stronger, Aftermarket Is Twice As Large, They Make S/c And Turbo Kits For It, And It Has Honda Reliability.

Re: unique honda

Re: unique honda

Dry Curb Weight Is 2835..... My Gutted 240 Weighs 2400lbs. Thats 4/10ths Of A Second In The Quarter. It Shouldn't Cost Much More If At All Than A S14 Sr Swap With Better Results.
