Question need advice and information

i, i'm 15 and saving for my first car. What i want to do is get a 4th or 5th generation honda civic hatchback for around 1500 swap a integra gsr engine in it turbo charge it and get racing suspension and all that done. From what i'v seen this is the cheapiest way to make a sleeper and a good auto cross car.
I'm looking for some advice on what exact year or type of hatch i should get (dx si...) or if it even will make a difference. remember i'm gonna swap the engin, trans, and later on get racing suspension to pretty much make it a race car and looks don't matter at all.
Also if you guys think there would be a better engine to swap (resonable) tell me what type and why.adn if theres any reasons a 4th gen civic hatch wouldn't be good for this project or if it would be better. Would i have to build the integra engine up to take around 10 psi safely? Thanks and please don't tell me how a mustnage 5.0 or 240 sx would be better there out of my range.

yes you will have to build up your internals to handle 10psi, you can run 6psi on a b18c1 safely.

Re: need advice and information

actually running a GSR motor in a hatch will make u run 14's or so... i think. 4th gen hatch... is that a 92-95'? Not to familar with the generation thing for civics since there is so much. well if it is a 92-95 hatch then it is a perfect car. I would get a CX b/c supposedly it is lighter in weight. Kinda rare to see a CX with AC and/or P/S so u can rip the pump/compressor out and gain even more power.

Since u are only 15... u should save ur money until u are out of high school cuz u might end up changing ur mind on how u spend ur money after high school. You are still young yet and i kno having a nice souped up car in high school is the coolest thing to do to be popular and all that stuff but it will only give u happiness until it breaks down b/c nothing lasts forever. Well i kno at that age u hate these life lectures so do what u choose.

Dude...your gonna be 16...get a beater...learn to drive...have your first accident cause you are gonna be dangerous. No parent should let their child have a turbo anything.

Re: need advice and information

When I was 16 I was grateful for the handmedown 89 Civic I got..
It was an A-B car and something I could go smoke pot in.

About the 5.0 and 240sx, how are they out of your range?
They will be cheaper than a used Civic, and more fun imo..
Modded Hondas are an infestation to this country's pavement, get
something unique.. be different than the crowd. Isn't that the cool
thing to do in highschool?

Send a message via AIM to civickiller
a b series motor will handle 10 psi of boost but you just need to have it tuned really good, no shitty hack, fmu or whatever. get a hondata or uberdata or soem kind of good engine management system
