Clanking leaf springs 2001 2500HD

I have a 2001 short-box extended cab 2500HD 4x4 with leaf springs that sometimes clank when driving over bumpy roads. The dealership says they do not have a solution for this. I have a 1995 extended cab with the same problem, but I am using a rubber exhaust o-ring/gasket on the lower leaf and it solved the clanking problem. I can do the same thing with this truck.

Is anybody else having this problem with their 2001-2004 HD? Thanks and have a good weekend.

Re: Clanking leaf springs 2001 2500HD

I had it with my 99 and the service bulletin for it used a rubber spacer between the leafs to quiet it up. It stopped the clanking but made them squeak instead. You might try running a check for tsb's to see if there's one for your truck on this.

My 01' long bed HD does the same thing. Is used to be quite, but I noticed the rubber pads on the leaf srpings are now missing between the springs and the over load bottom leaf, so I guess I need order the pads from the dealer to shut it up.
