1999 Silverado just stops running when driving

Should have just posted this question to begin with, but our 1999 Silverado 1/2 ton pickup, 4.3, 2WD truck just stops running while moving down the road. If you place it in nuetral and coast..it normally starts back up. On occasion, we must stop, wait a couple of minutes then it starts again and runs until the next time

I picked up a used ECM really cheap and wanted to try that...but have a feeling that the fuel pump is bad..anyone else have this situation?

thanks for your help

If you've got a 99 when why would you replace the ecm? The computer is obd2 and programmable making replacement unneccesary unless it was damaged. Also a clogged fuel filter can cause it to stop running. Does your fuel pump whine loudly when it comes on? If so then the filter is clogged.

I'll call my brother and ask him the same questions you noted.

thanks

The truck doesn't code...it just stops and then restarts like nothing is wrong?
