Question gas tank doped, please help

I have a 93 cavi standard 2.2L. Well my car started bucking. I thought it was bad gas, gradually got worse cannot be driven. Replaced egr valve, put a new set of plugs, new fuel filter, took it to a shop had it put in diagnostics - they said to replace ecm so that was done. Had a fuel sample taken yesterday - they said that the fuel is basically crystalized - sample was sent to a lab for analysis; but we suspect that it is salt that has been put in the tank. So question is, is there a way I can just drop the tank and flush the fuel rails and everything without having to replace my fuel system, hoping that not too much damage has been done to the engine. Please help.

Re: gas tank doped, please help

I feel sorry for you man! It sounds like someone was out to do as much damage as possible. Back in the old days you could usually flush the system, by removing the carb and rebuilding it replacing the fuel pump and cleaning the tank and fuel lines. With today's engines with the close tolerances in the injectors and electric fuel pumps, if you gas got doped with salt or sugar then you are probably going to have to drop a chunk of change to repair the car. You will need to drop the tank and flush, replace the electric fuel pump, all the lines, fuel rail, pressure regulator and yes even the injectors. A real expensive mess to say the least. If they used sugar you may even need to remove the head to clean the carbon from the tops of the pistons. Good Luck and I hope you catch the SOB! that ruined your ride.
