Re: TOP SPEEDS..curiousity

I've been in my friends car ('95 4dr) with an h22a swap in it and went 142mph on a highway. But let me tell you it was no fun when you're going that fast with 4 people in the car and someone cuts infront of you. I was in the passenger seat and I could feel the front brakes give out until he pulled the e-brake right before we hit the lady. Of course I don't know if that really counts seeing as how I wasn't driving and it wasn't my car; and his speedometer was a little off because he had bigger rims than stock.

well, at 110 my civic stops being a car and starts being a plane.

a plane with no propultion, control, or stability.

well, more like a missile :o

so i try to keep it under that. highest sustained speed was 95-105 on the I90 tollway from ohio to chicago... was in a hella hurry. sustained driving at that speed with traffic going 30mph slower sucks :/

when your ride smooths out to caddy soft, and the steering goes to hell, it's time to CAREFULLY slow down!

Re: TOP SPEEDS..curiousity

131 Miles per hour in my civic 1999 SiR.

Me and two other people on the car and some laugage, I was doing around 7000 rpms in 5th gear so it would probably top at 135 or so...not sure.

Wont try the top speed cause I will probably die, I got a girlfriend, brothers and friends. I want to die later.

Re: TOP SPEEDS..curiousity

My car maxes out at around 125. I've only done that a couple of times and it feels like the damn thing is about to fly off the road. Probably the highest speed I've maintained for a long time was 115 mph for about an hour, going north on the New Jersey Turnpike at about 3 am. All the way from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, onto the trucks-and-buses side, and back past the merge, almost to New York. Just 10 mph slower than max speed, and it still handled well enough to maintain it. So somewhere between 115 and 125, the car loses it's freakin' mind.

Re: TOP SPEEDS..curiousity

177mph (on the speedo, actual speed was probably in the mid-160's) in a highly-modded Eclipse GSX, I was driving.
