Lots of smoke
In the past couple of weeks my '95 Geo started pumping out large clouds of blue-white smoke when I step an the gas (even if it's just a light touch). It's burning at least 2 qts of 10w-30 each week and basically lacks any power so I have to feather the gas peddle if I'm going up even a slight incline. If the rpm's get in the beginning of the upper range the engine will sputter and cough. It has about 150,000 miles on it. Time for a new engine or is it less serious than that?
I bought it new in '95 and it's been great to me all that time--until now. I'm not sure I want to abandon it. |

Sounds like a combination of a toasted engine, and a bad MAP or Crank postition sensor.
