Re: 2000 STUPID METRO!..ignition key won't turn

Sometimes when my steering wheel locks I cant move the keys back or forth. All I have to do is push the wheel one way or the other and hold it there and than the keys move. Tried that?

Did you try turning the wheel, and than moving the key though?? Even when it locks it can still be moved a bit. Sometimes I have to move it that extra bit to get the keys to move again.

One thing that might work , I forget what kind of car it was I had to do this on but sometime the key would get jammed up and it would be that the tranny wasn't fully engaged in Park. might want to push up on the shifter while trying to turn the key

And if it becomes too much of a problem, remove the cable that goes from your steering column to the shifter. It could be bent internally, and not completely settling into the "park" postition.
OMG, Muncie, IN!!! lol, just thinkin of "The Hudsucker Proxy"
