head gasket

well i'm going to be replacing a head gasket on a 93 thunderbird, 3.8L MFI engine, anything in particular i should watch out for? or some things i should check while i have the engine open that may need replaced? thx in advance.

just a suggestion when i did mine on my 93 3.8 i had all the valves polished and check all the rockers and pushrods.....when you ahve it tore down that far you might as well check stuff out....just my two cents

Just look at it and see if you see anything that looks like it needs to be replaced. I would check the lifters if I were in the motor.
