God bless America's veterans.

And not in any snide sarcastic way. These are the people who have put their lives at risk for our safety. They deserve the greatest respect, admiration, and support we can give.

That said, this is worth a watch.

Re: God bless America's veterans.

As usual, this sort of thing does not surprise me one bit. Bush sends troops to war, yet they come back home to their country, screwed over by their commander-in-chief. No obvious appreciation for past veterans either. Maybe I might not agree with Bush sending our troops out to Iraq, but I think they should be well taken care of during and after they are finished in combat. They risk everything by going over there and serving. That, in itself, deserves the most appreciation and respect. Unfortunately, those words are not in GWB's vocabulary.

Nice. Another one of your witty one-liners.

Since you obviously disagree, please show proof that what was presented above was wrong. Simple, no?

Re: God bless America's veterans.

This is one of the reasons I can not vote for Bush this election.

Oh yea I forgot.

Until the mid-1990s, veterans who were served by military hospitals and clinics until the Clinton Administration and Congress closed dozens of such facilities in the mid-1990s. Veterans then had to pay out-of-pocket costs to civilian doctors or purchase often expensive supplemental insurance policies.

Been happening for years. That doesn't make it right though.

Re: God bless America's veterans.

the difference is, and correct if im way off base here, clinton didnt do it during a time of large scale military activity behind a rhetoric of how important our armed services were to us.

the fact that any president cuts military benifits (especially considering a huge portion of our military comes from the underprivaliged side of the economy anyway...ironic no?) is alarming.

Re: God bless America's veterans.

There was no large scale military activity under Clinton. In fact, he cut our military spending by massive amounts,. Maybe that has something to do with this situation.

Snarl -- Clinton, Bush, probably Kerry afterwards... it boils my blood. We have a volunteer army. (well, less so now, THANKS STOP-LOSS!) But still, these men 'n women volunteer to put themselves in harm's way to protect their fellow citizens, often coming back dead or mutilated.

And what do they get? A big frigging knife in the back from the government that's supposed to look out for them while the troops look out for US.

This guy says it better than I can:

He's a raging Clintonite (sigh) but he's right. What the hell is going on?

i dont think the Bush Corporation is very good at running a country, Bush is an actor, or puppet and needs to be de-throwned before he does any more damage.

Can you add more to it? Give me some examples or arguments to support your thoughts.
