My B16 Bites the Dust

So I hit 6k RPMs in first gear and then this happened. I am not sure why, no one really is. I am putting in my fully built LS VTEC this week to replace her.

RIP B16 6/16/04 65,018 miles

2 hours to pull it out. We are assembling it on an engine stand and it will take about 2 hours to put it back in.

We pretty much have it down to a science now...

what in the hell? WTF can cause something like that? Did you always dog the engine out? Did it get water damage? I always thought b16's could take such abuse! I lost hope now!

I dont have pics of teh head yet but it just came back from the Machine shop with a mild PP and Ferrea Valves and a Type R Valvetrain installed.

Its a B16 Head from my 2000 Civic Si

mated to this Block:



Have to remove pis for a little while

B18B Block
JE 81.2mm Pistons 12.5:1 CR
Eagle Rods
All new Seals and Balanced.

She will be tuned with Hondata S200

I also have Skunk2 Cam Gears ITR cams and Prelude Injectors

All things happen for a reason...maybe your supposed to get this LS vtec together and 'decimate all' with it...keep up the good work it looks like it should work out great
