1996 Jimmy AC problem

I'm having a problem with my AC compressor not coming on. The switch on the dryer is good and the relay on the firewall is also working. I had to bybass the relay on the firewall with a ground wire so the compressor clutch would engage. Of course this does not allow the compressor to cycle so the dryer freezes up causing the compressor to eventually shell out. Any Ideas or suggestions.
Oh and I've also replaced the interior control panel in the dash to see if that would solve my problem and it didn't.
Any ideas or suggestoins would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Your refrigerant level is low.

Have it serviced, and your issue should be taken care of.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, but I just had it serviced and filled with freon. So that isn't it. I was told that there might be another relay inside the vehicle somewhere. Anyone know where that might be or have any other ideas of what might be wrong. Another person told me that it might be my computer.

Try replacing the low pressure (cycling) shut-off switch.

Hope this helps.
