looking to the future...

Big news from the land of the rising sun, the 280hp limit has been lifted so this cool mean big things for the s2k. Doubtfulthat anything will happen they really have no reason to mess with it because it could change the important buyer demogaphic for the car, but does anyone realize what honda could do if they relased some special racing verion of the S2000, or "SI2000" if you will

Just think about it...

Re: looking to the future...

It would be something more like s2000 Type R. Probably not going to happen.

Pretty cool if they fitted the current s2000 with an all aluminium chassi and suspension, reducing 500 lbs or so...resulting in an equivalent to a current 290 horsepower s2000.

Re: looking to the future...

I'm not sure if the S2000 will venture into that much power. It's quite a jump from 240 to 280...

I miss the 9000rpm version though...hearing it's strong sounds

revs

well, i figure if the HSC (Nsx replacment) is suposed to be pretty bad (like possibly ferrari 360 territory) so they're going to need something to bridge the gap between the s2k and the HSC, or they could bump the s2k's power and throw something in under it (maybe a prelude replacment) Let me just point out that these are all JUST possibilities here. Not a whole lot of substance, just a nice thought.

Re: looking to the future...

It seems they canned the HSC! I hope the rumors are wrong. the Gallardo will now rule the roost in this sector. Wake up Honda!

come on honda

The nsx is a great car that i may not be able to handle for very long, but seriously, there are those who demand more performance. It's not as competative as it used to be. It made quick work of a ferrari 355, but the current 360 makes it look silly. All i can say is the next nsx should have around 350 hp if it wants to be competative.

Re: looking to the future...

The NSX is a supercar some of us can afford. It does not cost a fortune to service, it's very reliable and about 1/3 the price of a 360! But I do agree that we need over 350 BHP but now that the project is dead (for the time being) it's all very academical any way.
