Yes, they were called the AS "Si" Civic in Japan and ran a ZC Fi motor with 5speed. they came with hundreds of options and better interior trim, plus AC. You'll need to get a front cut and do the conversion yourself though.

a front cut? i think my husband grandparents have bought an 85. im not sure if it is an SI or not. im hoping it is, I dont want carburated i want *sighs* a replacement to 86 civic Si that i had until some jerks distroyed the steering column. I do appreciate your reply. and Im glad to hear that there are 1985 Si , can you please tell me what the you mean by this front cut conversion? and is it possible for me to replace the head lights from an 86 civic to an 85.. i hate the waythe 85"s have that pushed in look

one more quick note. am i wrongto think that a car runs smoother and sounds better with fuel injection? i dont like carburated. am i wrong with this ?carburated seems like junk to me.

Ah - the Si I'm talkign about is the japanese one - it has a better motor (130bhp) compared to the USDM one.

Carbs can be made to run well - but usually you need to upgrade them from the stock unit. I ran mugen 4-carb (4x Keihin single carbs) setup on my bored and stroked first gen 1200 (capacity was upped using an EN1 crank and goldwing 73mm pistons) and it ran like a dream - likewise a similar 2x Dell Orto setup. EFi is great - but a lot of fiddling to get it running properly - make sure you get an EFi fuel pump and surge tank as well as all the EFi wiring looms and the ECU - for a start

In America you could only get a CRX in 85 in Si trim. No hatchbacks, sedans, or wagons had Fuel injection.

bummer! it turns out that this is an 85 wagon that he picked up ! and damn your right it is carburated bummer man! but my little SI is going to be fixed.. it will take $$ and time. but i love that car.

Carbs are not all that bad. I own an older truck with a carb and it does require a little adjustment once in a while. I just bought an '85 civic with a carb and runs just fine. Choke is finikey, but nothing to complain about after nearly 20 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

i got one 85 sedan and i have swapped in a zc1 engine. runs great, no problems of any kind during the swap if you have a front cut. i personally didnt fit in the ac couse of the weight and the engine better run. there is a small problem you should know about the engine fit. the engine stands a bit lower than usual. the problem is the upper mount. nothing serious you candodge that problem easy. ill send you some pick if you want. you better use all the rest from the car you will take the engine like rear axle, brakes etc. take care and good luck.
