Someone give me the dirt on these wheels?

Ive been seeing these wheels in SCC the past couple of issues, I dont know if they are new, or I just noticed them....Anyway, they are Velox vx-8 R wheels. They are gunmetal/polished lip and 16" size. What I really want to know, is how much they weigh? I havent seen the wieght on a list I had, and the one posted here does not come up, so if anyone can tell me, Id appreciate it.

Also, are these good quality wheels, or just cheap crap?

A fairly new series of rims, quality is good for the price, designed for compacts, and they are not very light from my call to discount tire,
even their lightest 15s ar pushing 20lbs a piece.

Ah well, thats disappointing, but I half expected that when I saw the price of the wheels. Not even their so called "competition" wheel the vx-8r is light? Thanks Dezoris for the reply, I didnt expect you to answer, I thought from your other post we wouldnt be seeing you.

Hold on a second now, Dezoris said the 15" wheel was 20lbs. but these dont come in that size, only 16"-18", so the wheels he is talking about are probably different. Can you clear this up any Dezoris? I got the impression that these vx-8r were supposed to be more performance oriented, so is it just advertising or are they actually the light model that velox makes?

I thought they only come with 17" and 18".

The 17" Vx-8 weighes 21lbs and 18" weighes aroudn 23lbs.
I've asked them before.

Yes they just released a 16" size, and official word from Mike at www.veloxperformance.com is that they wiegh 17 pounds. So, not exactly pound per inch, but its not terrible.

Oh, now I see, there is a slight difference. The weird thing is, they show the vx-8 R in gold, but it says they are gunmetal only?

I like these wheels alot, I just wish they were lighter.

They say Silver only.

17lbs for 16" wheel is not bad at all IMO. My stock 15" rim weighes 18lbs.

heh, this is good, I went back and read over the page. It shows the wheel in bronze, but in the description it says "gunmetal only". But, if you look to the right of it, it says silver where the price is!!!! Talk about confusing, looks like another email is necessary.....Ill be checking back soon!

Ya, I guess you are right, 17 isnt bad, I guess Im just thinking racing hart cp035 territory!

Kosei's are ok, I guess I just don't like the looks.

Ok, here is the FINAL OFFICIAL word from veloxperformance themselves.

Velox VX-8R Limited edition wheel
16" size only
Gunmetal color only

There, that settles it!
