Maybe its me, but lately with the US holiday of July 4th, there seems to be more and more kids playing with fireworks in the neighborhood. Its okay by me cause I used to be a kid once and somethimes it gets boring with nothing to do, so long as its the usual firecracker. Yet I am complaining about the big bomb like fireworks like M80s etc that would shake windows or even blow them out if close enough. The minute one goes off, all the alarms go off. Its annoying. Once I saw a kid fill a bottle with some liquid and placed a rag on top and set it on fire on the sidewalk, at first I thought is he trying to do a molatove cocktail (don't know if I spelled that right). I had to run and get the hose to turn it off. We currently have a law here in NYC not to do fireworks of any kind except in an authorized area. It drives me nuts.

just kids having their fun, didnt you blow shit up as a kid? it will all pass after the forth, if its really that much of a problem call the police, one your neibors know someone has a problem with it they should stop

I was one of those kids. Still am...Make a two liter that explodes from air compression using powder from a piccolo pete, louder than a 12 guage....but I dont light them in the street, they blow out car windows....empty field behind my house, neighbors love 'em...one guy even asked me fill one with aceteline (sp?). It doesn't make a bigger boom, but it makes a BRIGHT flash, really kool....anyways....like Ghostguy said, it will pass..

July 1st (tomorrow) is Canada day, and some fuck children almost burned down their house by setting off firecrackers IN the house....God the parents should be beaten down

I remember having to clean the firehouse bathrooms (three weekends in a row) as a lad due to fireworks abuse. Good times. Pyromania is like the measles...good to get it out of the way when you're young...

yeah there are numerous firecrackers in my neighborhood. I just get pissed off when assholes light them laying down so they shoot down the street and can potentially hit cars/people/houses.

ever watch Viva La Bam....he set off fireworks in his parents bedroom, and in his dads van. Or was that the Jackass movie? what ever it was cool as hell.

Ahrgg... I know how you feel. There are a bunch of kids who live down the street that are always lighting off fireworks down the street or over the houses. Last time my neighbour told them to go somewhere else to do it there was grease all over his driveway the next morning. I think it's time to throw some fireworks into the kid's pool.

i can see where you'd get mad at the kids for doing that stuff with so many houses nearby, but can you really say you never played with fireworks?

my friend lives out in the country and we do all kinds of stuff like that out there (M80s are a personal favorite), but we aren't stupid enough to do it in town (in Iowa the only legal fireworks are sparklers and black cats, both are lame)

and if the kids are anything like my friends and i, it might last until schools starts, maybe even longer, like in my case it lasts until we run out of fireworks

The only legal fireworks here (Minnesota) are things that dont fly in the air or make an explosion. That pretty much means all that wussy stupid crap. My friend however (ironically he's a firefighter lol) takes me to wisconsin every year to get the good stuff. My other friend lives out in the country so we go out there and blow stuff up. We spent last weekend blowing up old tractor parts form a tractor we took apart. Just the other week some kids around here started their attic on fire by lighting off bottle rockets up there.

NYC always has FW problems. Just call the PD if it too late and your trying to sleep. Not that it would help. But as stated a few times, It will pass.

Don't get me wrong, like I said in my post I don't mind the regular firecracker, its just those huge big ones that set off alarms all over the place. Its really not the firecracker itself its the after effects that get me mad. (alarms going off, windows shattered, etc)

Why is it that more and more towns are banning fireworks? What are we to celebrate with then? What do we do when they are eventually banned everywhere?
