Re: Eprom???

An eprom ECU contains a removable chip (once it is socketed) on the circuit board. This allows for the interface with DSMLink (www.dsmlink.com) through the OBD-II port. DSMLink is considered to be the ultimate in tuning and logging. It actually changes values for air, fuel, etc. within the ECU itself as opposed to intercepting the ECU signal and "lying to the ECU" (SAFC-II). It is also the only logging tool to log knock. Most all 95's have an Eprom ECU. You can tell by removing the ECU and looking at the sticker on the top. An eprom ECU will have an "E" in the lower right corner of the sticker.

Re: Eprom???

The E sticker is not fool proof. Open it up to be sure, it takes 2 minutes more time. www.tmo.com has instructions and pictures so you can locate the eactual EPROM chip on the baord.

Not only is DSMlink an option, but TMO and Jeff O chips, etc.
