he could have siezed his motor, did you try and spin the crank by hand ? do the cams spin by hand ? does hte water pump or timing belt tensioner spin easy ?

what im getting at is try to find out why the timing belt stripped, what siezed.

you could also take off the oil pan and check out the crank and rods and see if they look good

ok today we took off valve cover... the crank does spin when u start the car it just spins... nothing else spins when u turn the key except the crank

now we turned each cam with a rachet and they turn fine all springs are fine in the head ... the water pump spins freeley....

so we have no idea whats wrong it seems like if we put a new timing belt it should all turn over since everything MOVES!!!

but the other belt was stripped llike all the teeth were stripped clean when the motor gave out!!!..... we cannot figure out what would have cause it to freeze up and strip the belt like it did!!!!

since you turned the camshafts I would highly recomend putting them back in place before putting a new timing belt on and then time the car properly. if you don't know how to do this pick up a Helmes/chilton/haynes manuel to teach you how.

belt did not rip... all the teeth were shaved off though like if it was sanded down...

we re timed it today and put a new timing belt on it everything moves when u turn the car on...

but the car wont start we checked the compresssion and its at 0 there is no compression in any of the cylinders...

we are thinking all the valves either bent or brooke... so tommorow we are going to pull the head off take it all out and replace all the valves

do you guys think this will fix the problem and the motor will run fine after replacing all the valves..???

curios tell me what else could be wrong

Re: did my friends ls motor SIEZE??? HELP!!!

thevalves could have damaged the pistons and also the valve seats it may look like hamburger but you mite get lucky be shure to take the head to a machene shop and get it cut with a 3 angle and you mite as well up grade the head to high performance parts whyle you have it apart

Re: did my friends ls motor SIEZE??? HELP!!!

you should have checked the tolerance of all the head parts. did you drain the oil? look for metal in the oil. and you can also use a pipe cutter and cut the oil filter open and look for metal shavings. if there is no metal shavings then it was probably a belt failure. if you find metal you should do a tare down and find out whats wrong
