Projector Headlights

Hey, I have an '89 CRX Si and my night visibility blows.

I have 9005 (65 watt, 1700 lumen) krypton BriteLites as my low beam and night vision is still subpar. Would getting a projector-style light enhance it at all? I found some for about $150 after shipping with the "halo angel eye" effect and everything:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

My current passenger side light is slightly blackened inside and the outside glass on both sides is slightly marked up.

Thanks!

Re: Projector Headlights

I too would like to get a nice set of projectors, but I'm yet to find a kind that I like. I mean that ones you found are ok, but they just have too much chrome. Anyone know if you can paint the chrome black on them without decreasing the brightness of them?

Re: Projector Headlights

maybe the reflective material on the inside of your headlights is nackered i know all the GM's suffer from that over here, its worth checking, they will look slightly dark and if u look closely u can see black inside

I don't get it... I used to have an 89 CRX, and I always LOVED my headlights cause they were so bright.... and my 91's headlights were really frickin' bright too... I have the non-halo projectors now... I haven't yet seen how bright they are or aren't...
If you want a set of those chrome halo projectors though, I have a set of them with CRX headlight brackets on them, that can be yours for $60 shipped.... only ever been out of the box once when I looked at them, when they were first shipped. (I'd ordered the regular projectors, but the company sent me the angel eyes by mistake...)
PM me if you're interested.

Re: Projector Headlights

Yeah, my passenger side headlight is blackened inside, and both sides have cracks through the entire reflector.

Re: Projector Headlights

It all depends on the quality of the light. Most of those cheep ebay ones are just that, cheep ebay knock offs. I currently have stock ones but I'm buying projectors soon (black housing, non ebay). I'm doing a 9005 conversion and finally getting around to installing the driving lights into my front bumper (driving lights not fog)

I have experience with projectors. I have Sonar Black housing projectors with angel eye. They are bright IF u get good bulbs(opti-blue H1 bulbs, going to get the PIAA 7500k spark blue soon), and my high beams alow way head light apposed to stock high beam, the projector part simply alows u to have a more directed view of the road. I think they are worth it. Also, I dont think u can paint real crome, however the housing does not have any effect on reflection to the road. Here is where I got my headlamps: http://www.autodynamic.com/transfer/...assemblies.asp

I think black housing looks nicer anyways.
