Need help.....Might be my tranny!

Something is going on with my car, and I am not exactly sure what it is, so i'll try and explain it. It kinda shudders when I accelerate, like theres air bubbles in the gas or something.....I can be on the highway accelerating and my car like vibrates and shudders, until I put it in overdrive. Then I take my foot off gas pedal and my car will be fine, but the moment I push the accelerator it starts vibrating again......Oh and yesterday I was backing out of Braums, and I put it in reverse and slowly pressed on accelerator, and it did the same thing, at even low speeds....Any one have an idea on what could be wrong.? God I hope its not transmission!

sounds like a misfire, check to see if a plug wire came off or something like that.

all of them lol, your camaro is a six cylender right??? so there should be a pack of three coils with six wires, id look to see if one got burned against an exhaust manifold or something, look for a chalky grey coloration on the wire, or a bad enough burn to show the cord inside the silcone insulation. youll know it when you see it.

okay, my dad and i took it for a test drive about two weeks ago and we came to the conclusion that my tires are out of balance.....I haven't had them balanced and rotated yet, but the other day my car was doing it again! Except worse.....! I was at an idle and my car kept acting like it was trying to die on me! And it was shuddering real bad and jerky....And I get the feeling that it mostly does this, or gets worse when I turn my AC on....B/c the other day was the first time in a few weeks i had my AC on and it was at its absolute worst...esp. on the hottest day of the summer so far? What do you think 89iroc

ac is extra load on the engine still could be misfire, and the extra load is just magnifying the effecks, but im not a mechanic so don't bet on it, but think about it

its a calloway c12 same class as the saleen, but Corvette based geometry-wise anyway still has the great Corvette look its an 01, but looks alot like the c6 don't you think? esp up front

yeah sounds like a misfire with the extra load from the AC, your camaro is a sixer right??? in that case go to the coil pack, and pull the wires off the coils one at a time while the engine is running with the AC on, one of the wires should not make much difference, and thats the bad wire. check for corrotion at the terminal on the coil, for a burned wire, for a bad spark plug, that sort of thing. lemmi know what ya find.

U know what? u were totally right i started my car and my dad popped the hood! We heard a ticking noise, so we looked down at the wires, and there was a spark, so my dad told me to shut off engine, and he touched the wire and it was so worn it broke in half! So that's exactly what's wrong! My dad is buying new coils and wires right now...Thanks for the help!

we fixed it today! I was so happy all new sparkplugs and wires, it runs like brand new i love it thanks for the help...! Oh by the way 89irocrs there is my pic. in my sig. just like u were tryna get the ladies to do lol
