anybody run this setup?

I finally figured out that I want to run a Revhard turbo kit on my 2000 gsr...eventually, I would want to throw in a Hondata, JE Pistons to lower the compression, Eagle Rods, upgraded flywheel, upgraded clutch...Does anyone have a similar setup, with hp numbers, or track times? and how much boost would be good to run on this type of setup? Thanks.

Todd

Re: anybody run this setup?

you dont need to lower the compression

lowing compression is safer but you make more hp per psi of boost with stock or higher compresswion than you would if you had lower compression

IC...My engine has a few miles on it, so I'd probably rather be safe than sorry, but that is a good point, if i got a new motor, i'd consider keeping stock pistons, or even not lower the compression too much.

At 10:1 compression given equal boost and timing he MIGHT make 15-20 WHP over a 9:1 motor. Only problem is your detonation threshold is much smaller on a 10:1 motor than a 9:1 motor. Personally I would not run over 14-15 pounds of boost on 93 octane on a 10:1 motor, with reduced timing. A 9:1 motor is gravy on pump gas to atleast 20-21 PSI, and you'd be silly to think a 10:1 motor @ 15 psi is going to out power a 9:1 motor at 20 psi.

Go with the Arias pistons instead of the JE slugs

ya...i heard those pistons are good as well...Does anyone have a similar setup? I have researched, but I wanted to know what numbers people put up, or a ballpark estimate of what numbers such as hp/ 1/4 mile times would be achieved with this type of setup.

Re: anybody run this setup?

Kinda like my setup...I only ran a 14.0ish because of my factory ecu was cutting out due to high boost. I have not run it since the hondata was installed cause my clutch and throwout bearing are hanging to life by a thread. I feel my car should definately be a low low 13 car at 1 bar and probably a mid 12 car with head work. Everybody above is right....dont run 14 psi with a 10:1....you will be better off runnin lower comp...detonation is a mother fucker. I have never heard it in my car and im running a 9:1 and have had my boost as high as 16 psi on 93 octane with no ping or detonation

Re: anybody run this setup?

sweet....yeah, about detonation, i'm a little new at this, but are there ways to determine how close you are to detonating? is there a gauge that measures that? once i have this kit on there, i dont want to take any chances....I always use premium gas, but here it is only 91 octane...I usually try to use 76 because i hear they have pretty good gasoline...whenever i go to the track, i would use race gasoline thou.
