Re: starting go kart racing

have a browse through the kart racing forum archives, maybe put up a post there...it's pretty quiet right now,but unless people post in the right forums they never get off the ground.

Re: starting go kart racing

You wont be able to use the same kart because of you age difference. I raced for about 4 years. We ran Briggs & Stratton 5hp, that could get the kart up to 50mph on a 1/8 mile track. We had the karts tested individually and got these top speed readings: 93mph, 98mph, and 112mph. The 93 was a bone stock 5hp engine runnning on methanol. The 98 was a bone stock 5hp engine on methanol with the exception of a 3hp flywheel and a richer mix. And the 112mph was a stock appearing 5hp engine(It was bored 60 over, stroked, bored out carburetor, ultralite piston, extended rod, hot head that needed shaved further, high lift cam, extended lifters, and a crankcase breather) that put out 14.7hp on a dyno. Check out American PowerSports, thats where we got ALL our parts.

LOL....Actually it is, but a few kart racers have obviously not heard of CART and have posted there.
