What year GSR do you have? That is very important in this case.

HI,...
That was the last q u asked me, i am starting to believe its was curiosity for the year more than help as according the factory service manual,, the 94-01 acura integra gs-r are the same..that makes me wonder...it looks like a job for the dealer,,, "The key here is the fact that a throttle body cleaning fixes the check engine light.. " Let me know if u think of something else, Regards |

This may sound dumb but check that your gas cap is screwed on tight. Many vehicles will throw an evap code for faulty or improperly sealed caps. BTW evap problems can be THE worst problem to trace in a car. Hope you get lucky with the cap.

Re: Help:- P1457 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP)
That was the first thing i did, changed the gas cap..., interesting addition is that sometimes i get the parking brake light on and when i open the gas cap i hear hissing like a lot of pressure being released and a few minutes later the parking brake light goes away..
anyone who can help... Regards |

Hey, Fastblackgsr. did you find out what was wrong after you got that code. Becasue I got it 3 months ago and I've troubleshooted the whole evap emission system, I changed the bypass valve, and the canister shut of valve, and I put hose clamps on all the hoses and i still get the code. What the fuck is going on??? If not, did anyone else have this same code, and what did you replace to fix the code?? Thanks!!!
And one thing that i don't understand is, the code is P1457 (evap LEAK canister area), what senses the leak! theres no sensor that monitors a leak or loss of vacuum! In the whole evap system there are 3 valves that open and close, a charcoal canister, and hoses! How would the computer now there is a leak somewhere????? |
