93 jgc truck won't start security light

i have a 93 jgc the truck just doesn't start i here the auto shutdown relay clicking ( sometimes the truck will fire and then shutdown and security light comes on * please help *

i gess you allready try opening your truck with the remote control right? , the reason for this is that in my gc the alarm do not switch off when i open the driver door , so i have to use the remote o go for any of the other 2 doors.

if this do not work you may tray removing the security relay located in side glove compartement (you need to remove a plastic cover held in place by 3 scews), i am not sure but a think that the security one is the one on the top left ( if this do not help do what every vody else do ) ask dale.

try unlocking the driverside door with the key. it is your anti-theft system not allowing the car to stay running.

And you can find the keyless entry fobs all over ebay, I picked up two of them for $15.00.

The only alarm your vehicle may have is the entry alarm. Once it starts, it should stay running. I have done plenty of remote starts on these Jeeps and it is not until 1999 did they start using the Sentry key system.

There is an Anti-Theft system on these jeeps, if the alarm if enabled and alarmed the jeep will not run, it will shut down everytime u start it. the way to disable it is to use the key or remote to unlock the doors.

hey i just had that problem today i changed the fuel pump and filter that was not it. it is the security for your truck.take the key out and lock the doors and get out of the truck.go to the tail gate after 30 seconds and unlock the tail gate with your key. this will reset the security alarm.I hope it wors for you

I had that same problem after my mechanic replaced the Water pump, we used the key to open the lift gate and it reseted the security system.

WOW! I learnt som ting to day! No really, I didn't remember that these Jeeps had that system. I remember back in the day when they first started using these and I had a heck of a time with remote starter installs because for some reason, they didn't always arm.

i had the same prob replace the ecu or the computer of jeep its useally on fire wall behind radiator overflow bottel on passanger side.will go up easy from heat of engin or water overflowing on it around 60 bucks on ebay,but should fix prob . i move mine by drilling hole in firewall and pushing plug through then seal around the wire with silocone and plug in ecu from inside will never have prob again.
