know the poblem, but need to fix it.

Hey fellas, my car has been at idel @ 500 rpms since i did my uicp and bov mod. I finally fgured out the problem... well, i went to http://65.54.172.250/cgi-bin/linkrd...tall%2f1000Q%2f and it says i have to ground the diagnostic plug under the drivers dash which i did, the only thing is.....i have problems grounding a pin to the firewell used for the engine timing..... can anyone identify how and where to do this part. here is the quote from the site.."You ground a pin in the diagnostic plug and you ground
a pin on the engine firewall that is normally used to set engine timing.
Then you adjust the setscrew until the idle is stable at 750 RPM." (http://www.dsm.org/archives/1998/07...720.txt/31.html)

i did the procedure, but i forgot to ground the second part because i dont know where the hell it is....i read somewhere that 2g eclipses dont have the enging timing....so please help....but yea that was my problem so in case any of you have the same problem down the road....hope it can help! thanks guys!

p.s. my car is a 99 gst

Re: know the poblem, but need to fix it.

Only 95 DSMs had the grounding pin, I dont think it it held the ISC... But it lets you set the base timing. On a 99 I think you are SOL. I didnt follow the link but I assume its telling you how to set the BISS. If you open it up a bit and idle speed goes up, you should be close. Using a scan tool you can hold the ISC as well to properly set the BISS. Most people just wing it, and set it with the BISS. Resetting the ECU will also set the ISC to the center of its traval, and it takes a long time for it to adjust, giving you enough time to set the BISS (make sure the car is warmed up completely).

Not sure if anything in there will help
