What mods

I have a 01 1.8t. I'm looking to start doing mods. The car is really fun and a pleasure to drive. There has been no mods yet, because I have no idea were to start. I don't want to put something on the car that willn't work or doesn't do what it claims. I have to start somewhere!! But where?????????????? Help please

The first thing i put on my gti was an aem intake. then got nuespeed upper and lower tie bars. made a engine ground kit. Then got revo chip with hyperboost DV and bosch 4B FPR. This weeking having downpipe, boost guage and a Hella HID kit installed.

I would highly recomend getting a chip of some kinda. HUGE difference. Most def does what its supposed to. But there is no real place to start modding. Like with most hobbies, once you get going your only limitation is your imagination... and your bank account. Just pick up something cool. whether it be something that cost 5$ or 500$ and be proud of it and have fun installing.

I got a good deal on an AEM intake thats why i got particular one. But im sure any brand will work fine.. Just remember one thing tho. When it comes to aftermarket parts you really do get what you pay for. Not to say that the most expenisive is always the best but its always a good idea to read up on the products you intend to buy and find out more about the places you intend to buy from. The forums at VwVortex.com are alot better source of info for VWs than AF is. Just do a topic search and you can find info on just about anything your looking for.

good luck
