ebay's air resistor!

Has anyone bought one of those resistors that change the motor into thinking it is getting cold air? Please give me info if you have please. Not your thoughts but experience. Thank you.

Re: ebay's air resistor!

If the resistor is more than 50 cents don't buy it. If you want one just go down to the radio shack and buy one that has 1/4 or 1/2 watt resistor. No same resistor value works on all vehicles. It does work maybe give you 6 to 10rwhp.they are primarily used at the track only.

Re: ebay's air resistor!

All you're doing is changing the signal being sent by the air temp sensor to the ecm so that it thinks the air is colder than it really is. In return it will richen up the mixture which is supposed to make more power. It will probably end up creating excess wear with the unburn fuel in the cylinder. On the 99+ ls1 based engines the air temp sensor is in the maf but I forget which wire it is in the harness.
