Low Brake

I have a 95 disco and the stupid brakes are low it takes I while to make the car stop in other words I have no power assist. when I have to brake fast it doesn stop it keeps going it doesnt burn tire. I've changed brake pads on front and rear and machined the 4 rotors. Have you guy had this problem with your land rover do you guys think it could either of these master cylinder, brake booster. ABS mechanism. any feedback would be appreciated

Re: Low Brake

Land Rovers have quite large brake lines and they are made out of rubber. Over time, the rubber breaks down and is more prone to flexing. When you step on the brake, the brake lines absorb a lot of the pressure when they get old. If you find this to be the case, invest in a quality set of steel braided brake lines.

Also, it might be as simple as just bleeding the brake lines, they might just have a bit of air in them. Try that first, and if it still doesn't work, then try the new brake lines.

Post what you find out!

sounds like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere. and another thing is land rover rotors do not like to be machined. check the vacuum line from the booster to intake.

Re: Low Brake

I have the same problem. When i depress the brake pedal, the vehicle slowly comes to a stop. Even at very low speeds, i cannot come to an abrupt stop. It coasts to a stop. I was wondering what the outcome of ur problem was?????
