Unhappy Dashboard Brake light...

comes on and off. When I start and go it stays on and sometime goes off while driving. Or if I drive to the store go inside come out start it up the light is off.

What gives... Any thoughts

Or is it the I need brakes soon light?

check your brake fluid reservior, it comes on and off when your press your brakes and the fluid goes from the reservior to push the pistons so the fluid level fluctuates up and down, telling the sensor to turn the light on and off.

fluid level is fine.

like I said it only comes on when I start the car (intermediate)

It can stay on when I drive to work in the morning. I can stop for coffee get back in and the light is off...

I haven't changed the brakes since Summit Point last year maybe thats it...:o

I have a similar problem, my brake light comes on under moderate acceleration and may shut off when I brake hard. Sometimes it just stays on. I havent checked it out, but Im guessing I have a bad switch or something, im just too lazy to check it out.

I had the same problem and Infiniti finally fixed it after them saying "cannot duplicate problem" when I brought the car in. Turned out it was some loose change had fallen into the e-brake and was keeping the lever from completely closing.
