Which sub setup would sound better?

Right now I have a 12" Kicker Comp VR sub in a bandpass box that came with the car. I am wondering if I should get a 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box. I want bass but i don't want a lot of distortion. I think I might get too much distortion if i put the W6v2 in a bandpas box,but i'm not really sure. Let me know which you think might hit harder. Thanks.

Why stop at one W6? Go two W6s in a sealed box. You will have good sound

I have had many sytems and jls subs hit 3x's harder in an open box than in a sealed same with kickers. I had the same ones as you with an audiobahn 3201 amp and ma audio digital cap. Those hit nice and sub hard. I abused my subs day in and day out never busted or got distorted. Keep that one and get another.

JL's are the best. You may need a different box then you had with the VR. The better the amp the cleaner the sound. As far as type of box I have 2 JL 12" W6's in a ported box and it hits nice, clean, and very loud!
