1994 Cherokee Sport

Cooling fan has started to hit frame on right side when turning left. It ate the fan cover took big chunks out, so I removed it, but still hitting something. I think the frame, there is very little room for clearence on left looking at front. If make sharp turns to left it is hitting. Is this Motor mounts gone bad?

Re: 1994 Cherokee Sport

What happened before it started hitting everything?! It could be the motor mount. Easy way to test this theory is with hood open, engine running, foot firmly on the brake, place tranny in drive. Watch the engine as you ease down on the throttle, thengine will move a little, but no more. Also check in reverse. If there is allot of movement good chance that a mount(s) is bad. With the tight tolerances in the engine compartment, do you hear or feel anything else? ie. Tranny hitting floor boards, exhaust hitting F/B.

My 19 year old son was driving and says he hit a bump in the road where there is some new paving going on. Says it started after that.
